The Attraction Action
What is the Law of Attraction? Is it a physical magnetism that pulls in the things that you want and wish to happen at your beck and call? Is it wishful thinking? Or is it truly a law of the universe that manifests your deepest desires when you get out of your own way? Let’s examine the definition of attraction. In physics attraction refers to the electric or magnetic force exerted by oppositely charged particles, tending to draw or hold the particles together. It is also referred to as the gravitational force exerted by one body on another. The origin of the word attraction is from the 16th century. It was originally a medical word, meaning “absorption by the body” and an “action of drawing to.” Do these forces truly exist in nature? Or are they just mental constructs of forces that we truly don’t understand?
According to physics opposite particles attract each other. However, the Law of Attraction states that like attracts like. The LOA is more like the Law of Gravity in that it universally attracts anything in its path and proximity. Gravity is the force of attraction between any two masses where the separate masses move towards each other due to an inherent attractive force within the two masses. The larger mass pulls the smaller mass faster toward it due to its greater gravitational force. Every person contains mass and generates energy through the act of living. If we repeatedly generate and broadcast energies of lack, limitation, fear and doubt we are attracting similar energies to our beings. If we repeatedly generate energies of health, wealth, prosperity and abundance, we attract those similar energies to our beings. We become the larger mass that pulls the events, circumstances and people into our experience. In essence, we become what we think about every day.
No matter how intent our desire is to manifest our goals and dreams, we have a major filter that all energies have to pass through in order for us to generate the passion to create and manifest our deepest desires. It is our belief system. If we believe that we cannot do something, we can’t. Why? Because our emotions cement our repeated thoughts into beliefs that we bury in our subconscious and go out of our way to never violate. We become a product of a self-fulfilling prophecy because we know, through our emotionally charged beliefs, that we cannot violate our belief systems. We identify our beliefs as being so much a part of whom we are that we cannot separate ourselves from them without feeling that we will lose who we are. We are what we sense, think, believe and know. I once heard a quote that said, “If you don’t know you can’t do something you can. If you don’t know you can do something you won’t” (Unknown Author). Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t – you are right.” Whether you believe in the LOA or not it still works every day to manifest what you think and believe.
So what is the Attraction Action? It is movement of energy from the thoughts and beliefs of our mind to co-create the reality that we experience. Like an electrical relay, our minds mold and direct weak energies to control and manipulate the powerful energies of the universe to bring about what we desire filtered by our beliefs. If we don’t believe this is happening, then our experience will reflect those beliefs. If we do believe that we can co-create our reality, we must learn how to clean ourselves of any beliefs that don’t support our growth and expansion. We must learn how to deal with the Distraction Faction of thoughts and beliefs that don’t edify our beings. We must grow spiritually by recognizing our part in the greater picture. Without that realization, we will continue to manifest the same results day after day. Remember, the definition of insanity is trying to do the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Are you seeking clarity and focus, or just settling for mediocrity? Make the steps to remove your erroneous beliefs to open up the channel from your innermost desires to the manifestation of those desires. Expect to grow and expand and you will!
