Cherries: A natural remedy for gout
Is it really possible for cherries to cure gout? Well cherries have been linked to treatment of gout since a very long time. This question was examined scientifically in the year 1950 when a doctor from Texas published an article in the journal saying that cherries are effective for preventing gout. He did this only after he studied the symptoms and not positive results with regard to cherries.
The study included 12 people who were eating half a pound of black cherries, red cherries or drinking the equivalent amount of cherry juice. In all the 12 cases the uric acid in the blood became normal or lowered. The Dr. himself started using cherries to fight his gout attacks. There are many others who reported that eating cherries can stop or can prevent gout flares. In other words this means that people usually do not experience Gout attacks for a long period when they use cherries.
It can be debatable whether cherries can really cure gout or not and the question is quite open. Many people and many testimonials show that cherries are quite useful in the prevention and treatment of gout, but there are several forums and posters that do not think so. In other words are many forums that think that cherries cannot be used to cure gout. It has almost accepted as common knowledge to know that cherries, drinking a lot of water and even using Apple cider vinegar are among the best known natural remedies for gout. However it is interesting that not many people watch for cherries to cure gout.
According to studies it is seen that cherries have a class of flavonoids that can alleviate pain and also lower the levels of uric acid in the blood. The same flavonoids are even used in the manufacture of drugs such as aspirin and ibuprofen. As a result of is not surprising that cherries can actually reduce the amount of pain and discomfort.
Cherries also contain anthocyanidins which can help in inhibiting the enzymes that produce uric acid in the body. As a result lesser uric acid would mean that cherries can actually help in treating gout by lowering the amount of uric acid in the blood.
In one of the studies undertaken by a Michigan State University it was seen that cherries are very useful in reducing pain and inflammation as well. Also the best part about cherries is that they do not have any known side-effects. There are several other studies that were conducted in the United States which show that cherries can be used effectively to reduce the amount of uric acid in the body by even helping a person to excrete more even hazard from the body.
Most of the studies show that cherries can be used to cure gout attacks sometimes and in most cases they can reduce the pain and discomfort caused by the setbacks. Irrespective of what they do, cherries can certainly reduce the amount of pain and also reduce the amount of inflammation caused due to gout attacks.

Like Lucas before him, Linklatter clearly relishes that gloss and wields it like an ironic chainsaw. His soundtrack is a raucous, authentic collection of mid-70′s radio fare, be… |
