Natural Stone Appears like The Real Thing Without The Cost Of It
Veneer is a term that refers to the surface of any material and is also known as facing. Veneer brick is basically a veneer that is made up of a thin brick layer on the front of a structure. This may appear on the interior or the exterior. The cost of this product is much more affordable than to actually build with brick and therefore is more economically to decorate with.
The surface of a wall is referred to as facing and is simply the layer of material that is applied to the surface of a wall. This can occur on exterior or interior surfaces and provides a more textured appearance than a plain painted surface. Brick is one of the materials that is used in facing, but is not the only material. It is also common to see brick panels that are made of wood.
There are numerous hardwoods used for facing in homes; these woods make it possible to have fine wood materials without the exuberant cost often associated with these materials. It is also common to see plaster or stone as a facing material. These materials provide a very attractive setting and provide some texture to a space.
These building elements are just as conducive to commercial structures as they are to residential structures. When these materials are applied properly it is sometimes almost impossible to tell the difference between facing and the actual material. This is particularly true of wood veneers, where it is often not possible to tell the difference between solid wood and wood veneer.
It is feasible to create different types of appearance with veneer brick. While it is common to see this material used to create a rustic appearance, it also has the ability to appear classic or contemporary. It is possible to create whatever type of appearance you desire.
Veneer is applied in a similar manner to laying tile. The surface the material is going to be applied to needs to be cleaned and then there is mortar spread onto the wall. At this point the brick is set in place on top of the mortar. While the brick is drying, plastic is used to keep the spacing uniform. When the mortar has dried then the brick is grouted.
Brick veneer looks particularly smart used around a fireplace and has the illusion of being the chimney. This material also looks good as a closure around a wood burning stove. Another neat decorating trick is to use this material along with some plaster to create the feeling of an old factory loft. A wine cellar or the new cool ‘man cave’ can also be decorated nicely with this material.
Natural stone is used as a decorating element in the construction or renovation of a residential or commercial space. The brick panels material provides the illusion of being solid brick, but it is much more affordable. Applying veneer is very similar to laying tile and can be done rather easily. This material is great in the use of decorating the area around a fireplace or in a that man cave or wine cellar.
