Singing at age
Have you always wanted to learn how to sing but have not started taking singing lessons because you felt that you’d left it too late? I’m here to tell you that it’s never too late to start singing and there is no such thing as an ideal singing age!
Kids as young as 8 or 9 can be taught the to sing beautifully. Of course adjustments will need to be made to avoid straining the voice during puberty. This is something that a good vocal coach can assist with.
On the other end of the scale, adults can benefit from singing training throughout their life to a ripe old age and in fact many people actually sing better as they age. But even if this is not the case for you, don’t be put off. It’s perfectly natural to experience a large number of physical changes as we get older. There is no denying that we lose muscles strength and flexibility. However, too often we make “age” the culprit – or the excuse, if you will.
Don’t forget that it’s not just older people, but even kids can have vocal or physical complaints.
So although there are certainly things we will never be able to do as well as we once did, it is certainly never too late to learn and have fun. Irrelevant of age, it’s never too late to learn inspiring new skills and feel energised and motivated by the development of a new hobby. It’s never too late to learn develop and learn new skills. The Per Bristow Voice Method is a liberating learn to sing approach that has no age or skill prerequisite.
Sure there are plenty of great singers using programs like Per Bristow’s but the majority are regular folks just like you and me. It’s all about taking you from where you are now to where you want to go and developing awareness. So your age is irrelevant. {At the end of the day, old or young really is just a state of mind.} Singing is one of life’s great pleasures that really has no age limit, unless of course you judge yourself to some limiting ideal. You owe it to yourself to let your voice be heard.
