Community Painting Projects – Does Exterior Paintings Raise Value?
Have you ever walked into a place like a library or children’s hospital or other such establishment and noticed the huge mural paintings on the wall? Such works of art are generally a result of community painting projects. These projects are often created by volunteers who work together to produce such conglomerations and donate them to various locations for others to enjoy.
Although artistic experience is always a plus in projects such as these it is not a requirement. The reason for this is that these projects are often printed on several pieces of canvas and need only to be painted and transferred to another surface. The neat thing about community painting projects such as this is that they can be put anywhere.
Although some of these creations are put on the inside of places there are also many that are put on the outside walls of businesses and other such places. This gives the entire community the opportunity to enjoy these colossal works of art. This is how the name community painting was conceived.
Generally big cities are more likely to have these types of art formations than are small towns. Some smaller places however are beginning to also pick up on the trend of these large murals as well. Not only do they lend a touch of artistic elegance and beauty to the area but they are also well noted for increasing the value of whatever building they may be placed upon.
Although many of these works of art are indeed beautiful to see there have been times in the past when they have been considered to be acts of vandalism or unwanted graffiti. These views have changed somewhat however due to the increasing number of these murals appearing in various places.
Not all of these community painting projects are a case of donated work. There are some businesses and organizations who hire people to create such works explicitly for the purpose of decorating the outer walls of their buildings. One reason for this is the belief that if a building stands out it is more likely to be noticed by the general public. This of course is thought to generate an increase in business.
Some of the most noted locations for these projects are places that are well known to be frequented by children and young adults. Some examples of these establishments include community centers, libraries, children’s hospitals and the like.
If you look around and see places that have huge paintings covering entire walls then chances are you are looking at the results of a community painting project. The appearance of these are becoming increasingly popular in cities and towns everywhere.
