Are Gold Certificates A Good Investment
Gold certificates, for the uninformed, are essentially the same as the paper dollar used to be. Back when the US and the UK were still on the gold standard, it was better to carry around a piece of paper representing gold than it was to carry around, say, a half pound of gold in your pocket.
Obviously you can’t spend one of these certificates in a store as you could a paper dollar in the old west, but it’s tied directly to gold nonetheless, and immune to inflation.
Okay, so the certificate isn’t spendable like the paper dollar, you can’t go into a convenience store and buy a can of soda with a gold certificate, but, you do have something on paper that represents REAL value, it represents exactly how much it’s worth in gold. In this sense, it’s exactly like real gold, and exactly like the paper dollar was before the abolishing of the gold standard.

Play it Safe
Gold has always been a safe, smart investment. It’s not for people who hope to get rich quick, who hope to make a mint overnight. It’s for people who know that real value takes time to build. Luckily, you don’t need to pay too much attention to your about gold investment, whether it’s coins, bars, bricks or certificates. You can really just take it, put it somewhere safe, and ignore it til you need it.
Don’t Get Too Anxious or Greedy
Some people how to make a lot of money on metals by keeping a constant eye on the market, selling when it’s hot and buying when it’s cold… Okay, you CAN do this, but you’ll honestly be much better off if you’re patient. Gold tends to increase in value in much greater amounts over time, not over a few days time, as with stocks and so on. Just be patient and wait for some big boosts to start selling.
Be Patient
In the gold game, you absolutely have to be patient. The value of the metal is tied directly to the value of the dollar, and conversely, so as inflation gets worse, the metal gets better. If you want to get rich in a day’s time, go ahead, play the lottery, but if you want something to retire on, get some gold and watch it improve in value as time goes by.
