Create Your Own Glue

Finger painting is a favorite craft project for almost any age of kids, particularly your smaller kids. The most wonderful thing concerning finger paints is that virtually any picture looks great when showcased in wooden distressed picture frames. The recipe for finger paints is really easy, as all you need to do is put into a saucepan one fourth of a cup of cornstarch and two cups of cold water. Heat it till it boils, when it’s going to reach the finger paint consistency. Remove from heat and let cool. Divide it up and put it into smaller jars that have tight fitting lids. Now have some fun mixing food coloring into each of the jars, and make some different colors.
Interesting and Fruity Play Dough
This fun recipe creates a nice sized batch of play dough that smells like fruit. Mix two cups of flour with a package of unsweetened Kool-Aid mix and a half a cup of salt. Next add two tablespoons of vegetable oil. You now will include two cups of boiling water, and mix it all up. Be cautious with this step if your youngster is helping. Mix using a spoon, forming the dough. Keep the play dough within an air tight container. Since this dough smells so delicious, remind your little one that she or he should not eat it. When your child has produced something that they particularly like, be sure that you remember and take a picture of it. Print some off and display in photo frames as beautiful wall art. If this play dough is kept in airtight containers it’s going to last for a long time and will also be useful for many wonderful creations.
Easy Handmade Chalk
It is surprisingly easy to create your own colorful chalk. Mix one cup of Plaster of Paris with a small amount of powered tempera paint. Add to the mix a half of a cup of cold water and blend it up. Next pour this mixture into candy molds, popsicle molds, little Dixie cups, or maybe a toilet tissue tube that is lined with waxed paper. After the chalk dries, remove from the mold. Your youngster can use this chalk to design paper artwork, which you can display in picture frames. The chunky pieces are especially fun when used to make pictures on a driveway or sidewalk.
